AIC Pocket · Your information
AIC Pocket Privacy Policy
Understand what stays on your device, what Apple handles, and the choices you have over your records.
Your ledger stays local
AIC Pocket stores your money, work and planning records on your device. It does not automatically upload your ledger to an AIC server or connect to your bank.
Apple handles subscriptions
Apple manages purchase confirmation and billing. Pocket uses subscription-verification information to determine access, not to read your Apple password or card details.
You control your records
You can use encrypted recovery and choose to delete local records. Deleting records does not cancel an Apple subscription or delete copies you saved elsewhere.
1. Who is responsible for this policy?
AIC Pocket is provided by AIC Japan, operated by Jafar Murakami in Japan. In this policy, “we” and “our” refer to AIC Japan. You can contact us about Pocket privacy at contact@aicjapan.com.
This policy covers AIC Pocket’s version 1 iOS/iPadOS functionality and support that you request from us. It does not announce App Store availability, cover a future feature that has not been released, or replace the separate privacy notices of Apple or other websites. Other AIC products have their own purposes and data boundaries. Shared branding does not automatically combine your Pocket records with Learning, Reminders, health-related services or Compass.
2. Information stored on your device
Money, work and planning records
Depending on what you enter, your records can include account names and balances, expenses, received income, transfers, descriptions and notes, expected income, pay-cycle dates, bills, tuition goals, amounts reserved or paid, jobs, pay rates, shifts, breaks and record history. The app uses these inputs to show your records, calculate estimates and support planning.
The native ledger is stored locally in encrypted SQLite storage. An installation-specific encryption key is held in the platform’s secure storage. You do not need an AIC account to keep this local ledger. We do not ask you to enter bank-login credentials, payment-card details or your Apple password into Pocket.
Preferences and subscription metadata
Language and appearance settings are stored separately in a small local preference file. That preference file is not encrypted in the same way as your ledger.
Pocket also keeps separate local subscription-verification metadata, such as transaction and original-transaction identifiers, product, status, start and expiry dates, renewal information and the state needed to reconcile access and complete transactions safely. This metadata is not part of the encrypted financial ledger. It helps the app verify access, avoid duplicate handling and restore purchases.
The iOS ledger and commerce directories are configured to be excluded from normal device backup. Do not assume an iCloud or computer device backup will recover these records. Preferences and operating-system behavior have different storage and backup rules.
3. Apple services, browsers and external data
Optional Premium subscriptions use Apple’s StoreKit. Apple handles Apple Account authentication, payment confirmation, charges, renewal and subscription management. Pocket receives verified app-distribution context, product names and local prices, and transaction, renewal and current-access information. A scheduled next plan is not treated as an entitlement before it becomes current.
AIC Pocket does not read your Apple Account password or payment-card credentials. Apple processes information for its services under Apple’s Privacy Policy and applicable account settings.
The version described here has no AIC-operated cloud ledger, developer billing backend, advertising SDK or behavioral-analytics SDK. This does not mean that no information ever leaves your device: StoreKit communicates with Apple, you may export information yourself, and a browser or support service processes information when you choose to use it.
Opening a privacy, terms or support link opens an external website. The destination may receive ordinary request information, including an IP address and browser details, and may use cookies under its own practices. Pocket’s legal-link opener passes the page address, not your ledger contents, notes or transaction identifiers. The AIC website’s separate website privacy information applies to your visit there. This page does not make a blanket claim about all website measurement settings.
4. Encrypted recovery and transfers you choose
Pocket’s public recovery interface lets you export a password-protected encrypted backup and restore it with the appropriate password and confirmation. You decide whether to copy, save or transfer that backup, where it goes and who receives it. There is no automatic AIC cloud recovery or bank synchronization.
A clipboard, file provider, storage service or person you choose may retain copies under its own practices. Keep your backup and password secure and separate where practical. Do not send either to support. AIC Japan does not hold your recovery password or a server copy of your local ledger and cannot recover a lost local ledger for you without your own usable backup.
Public builds do not expose the internal sample loader or readable plaintext JSON import/export tools. Clearly labelled internal test-build tools are not the public recovery interface.
5. Retention and deletion
Records under your control
Local records remain on your device until you change or delete them, replace them through confirmed recovery, or the app’s data is otherwise removed. In Settings, Delete all local records asks for confirmation before resetting money, work and planning records. Choosing Cancel leaves them unchanged.
This record-reset action does not delete exported backups held elsewhere, separate appearance/language preferences, subscription-verification metadata or the installation encryption key. It does not cancel an Apple subscription or erase Apple’s records. Subscription expiry does not delete your ledger or remove the app’s core record and encrypted-recovery rights.
To cancel or change a subscription, use Apple’s subscription-management interface. To remove copies you exported, delete them from the locations or services where you saved them. Device uninstall and key-storage behavior are controlled partly by the operating system; we do not promise secure physical erasure or automatic recovery from operating-system backups.
Information we receive for support
We retain support information only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, provide related support, maintain necessary support records, resolve disputes or meet applicable legal obligations. When it is no longer needed for those purposes, we delete it or remove identifying details. You can request deletion using the contact method below. Where a legal obligation or a technical retention limit prevents immediate removal, we will explain the relevant limitation.
6. Support and privacy requests
Contact contact@aicjapan.com or use the AIC Japan Contact page. Please include “AIC Pocket” and describe your question without sending sensitive records.
If you contact us, we receive the name, email address, message and attachments you choose to send. We use them to handle your inquiry, provide related support and meet applicable legal or security obligations. We do not use a support request as permission to import your local ledger or subscribe you to unrelated marketing.
Website forms are handled through WordPress/Jetpack and may be stored in the site’s form-response dashboard and delivered by email. Our website and email service providers process information necessary to host, deliver and protect those communications. These services may process information outside Japan under their own terms and applicable safeguards. Provider information is available from Automattic and Google.
Do not send bank or Apple credentials, card details, passports, residence cards, private ledger exports, encrypted backups or backup passwords. A short description and non-sensitive error wording are normally more useful. We do not require a financial export to answer a general support question.
Subject to applicable law, you may ask about information we hold about you, request access or correction, request deletion, object to an optional use, or withdraw consent for optional communications. We may need proportionate information to confirm that a request is yours. We will use it only to handle that request. We cannot remotely read or delete a ledger that exists only on your device; use the app’s local controls for those records.
7. Security and limits on sharing
Local ledger encryption, separate key storage, verified subscription handling and purpose-limited support access are intended to reduce exposure. No device, transmission, clipboard or backup can be promised completely secure. Protect your device and backup password, keep software current and avoid placing unnecessary sensitive information in free-text notes.
We do not sell your personal information or automatically pool your private Pocket records across AIC products. Support providers may process the information needed to deliver their services under applicable privacy and security obligations. We may disclose information we actually hold where legally required or necessary to protect rights and the security of our services. Apple’s independent processing and any transfer you choose yourself are separate from an AIC data-sharing service.
8. Your choices and policy updates
You can keep core records without purchasing Premium, change language or appearance, manage Apple subscriptions, make a password-protected recovery backup and choose local-record deletion. You may use the app without contacting support. We do not make Premium conditional on sending us a ledger or agreeing to unrelated marketing.
We will update this page when the described data practices change and revise the effective date. A material change will be brought to users’ attention through an appropriate notice; where additional consent is required, we will ask for it. A future cloud, account, analytics or cross-product feature is not authorized by this policy merely because it is mentioned in an AIC roadmap.
